Lesson 2 of 4

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: nutrition basics

2 min read

Direct answer: ICMR-NIN describes pregnancy and breastfeeding as nutritionally demanding periods that need extra nutritious food and healthcare. It advises a balanced diet with foods of animal origin where eaten, regular antenatal care, and iron and folic acid supplements as prescribed. Every pregnancy is different, so food and supplement decisions belong with your doctor.
