Lesson 1 of 4

How nutrition needs change across life

2 min read

Direct answer: ICMR-NIN says nutrient requirements vary with age, gender, physiological status and physical activity. The foundation stays the same at every stage: a varied diet from several food groups. What changes is the emphasis, such as extra food in pregnancy, calcium in the teen years, and nutrient-rich foods in later life.
